As a Porch Leader we are here to help Young Adults in this community take the next step in their relationship with Christ, whether they are far from Him or have been walking with Him for years. This happens as we create a welcoming and safe environment where people can be shepherded in truth and connected into a deeper relationship with Christ. We consider every leader to be a pastor and evangelist!

Watermark is committed to supporting the growth of authentic Christ-centered leaders who increasingly love God and love others. Serving as a leader at The Porch is a privilege and should be taken seriously. While we are all continually in need of God’s grace as we grow in our relationships with Christ, Scripture places a high calling on those serving in a leadership role. The following are necessary for someone being considered as a Porch leader:

Serving at the Porch involves initiating a LOT of conversations with people you may not know, as we welcome them, get to know them, share the gospel, etc. How comfortable are you in initiating a conversation with someone you may not know?*

1 - I stay in my shell 2 - It feels kinda awkward but I can make myself do it 3 - I enjoy it, but I have to be intentional to make it happen 4 - I naturally and consistently find myself having conversations with people I don't know 5 - I've never met a stranger and love talking with new people!

The Porch serving commitment is 6 PM to 9:30 PM and on occasion till 9:45p, every Tuesday except while the Porch is on break from mid-December to late January. Can you commit to this?*

We understand that "life happens", and there will be weeks where you are on vacation, or sick, or get a flat tire, or any number of other things! When those things come up, just communicate well with us so that we know when you won't be there. We ask that you hold your commitment to The Porch in high regard, and don't intentionally fill your Tuesdays with non-Porch commitments, or flake out at the last minute!

All new Porch Leaders go through an 10-week training process called Roundabout before getting placed on one of the Porch teams. During Roundabout, all new leaders participate in UNASHAMED, an in-town weekend discipleship trip (see also: http://www.watermark.org/dallas/ministries/unashamed). Would you be able able to participate in an Unashamed weekend trip?*
